Idahoās National Forests Face Crisis After Mass Forest Service Layoffs

Mass layoffs in the U.S. Forest Service are raising concerns about Idahoās public lands, with essential maintenance and wildfire monitoring at risk. Among the 3,400 employees terminated, manyālike Patrick Shea and Bryce Spareāwere let go despite strong performance records. The Payette National Forest, covering 12% of Idahoās forest land, lost dozens of workers, leaving only one person to maintain 1,600 miles of trails in some areas. Coeur dāAlene Tribe Doubles Scholarship Impact with Matching Challenge

The Coeur dāAlene Tribe is once again issuing a matching challenge to support the Coeur dāAlene Regional Chamberās scholarship program. For every $1,000 scholarship donated by a business, the Tribe will match the amount, doubling its impact. Since the challenge began in 2022, scholarship funding has grown significantly, benefiting more students each year. This yearās goal is to provide scholarships for all 130 applicants.
