Prosecution Pushes to Question Defense Team Members in Idaho Murder Trial

Prosecutors in the case against Bryan Kohberger, the man accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022, are considering calling members of his own defense team as witnesses. This development has emerged amid ongoing pretrial proceedings in one of the most closely watched criminal cases in the region.

The state’s legal team recently submitted a filing that indicates certain members of Kohberger’s defense may possess information relevant to the investigation. Specifically, prosecutors pointed to the defense’s interactions with an expert involved in a DNA analysis. According to the filing, the expert—who was initially hired by the defense—may now be considered a witness for the prosecution. Learn More…

Staffing Cuts Threaten Summer Recreation in North Idaho Forests

Typically, seasonal crews help maintain hundreds of recreational sites during the region’s peak outdoor months. Now, with fewer hands available, those areas may face overflowing trash bins, dirty restrooms, and neglected facilities—conditions that could deter tourism and frustrate locals. Read More…
