Public Meeting Set for Tubbs Hill Wildfire Mitigation Project in Coeur d’Alene

The City of Coeur d’Alene is moving forward with a major wildfire mitigation effort on Tubbs Hill, thanks to nearly $600,000 in funding from the Western States Fuel Management Grant. After a temporary pause in funding, the project is back on track and currently in the planning stage, with bidding expected to begin soon.
To engage the public and provide details about the initiative, the city will host an informational meeting on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Coeur d’Alene Library Community Room. The event will be held virtually in webinar format, with a live presentation, polling, and a chance for attendees to ask questions or offer input—similar to how city council meetings are conducted. Coeur d’Alene Wine Fest Set for April 5
with 10+ Regional Wineries

WineFest will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., showcasing a vibrant mix of local and regional wineries, each offering hand-selected wines paired with gourmet bites designed to complement every pour.
As guests make their way through downtown’s participating venues, they’ll enjoy curated pairings—such as bold reds served with savory appetizers or crisp whites matched with light, refreshing bites. Burbot Anglers Urged to Submit Packets by April 15 for Raffle Entry

Idaho Fish and Game is reminding anglers who participated in this year’s Kootenai River Angler Science Program to submit their completed packets by April 15 for a chance to win prizes. The program, which focuses on burbot fishing in the Kootenai River, relies on volunteer data from anglers to better understand and manage the fishery.
As the burbot season winds down, anglers are urged to return their logbooks, contact cards, and creel packets to one of three drop-off locations: the Fish and Game Panhandle Region Office, Far North in Bonners Ferry, or North 40 Outfitters in Ponderay. Learn More…
