Sherman Tower to Bring Boutique Hotel and Luxury Living to Downtown CDA

A new boutique hotel is set to transform downtown Coeur d’Alene with the upcoming construction of Sherman Tower, a mixed-use development that will combine luxury accommodations with upscale residential and commercial spaces.

The six-story tower will include 21 hotel suites, 26 residential condominiums, a ground-floor restaurant and bar, and rooftop amenities offering sweeping views of Lake Coeur d’Alene. This project aims to bring a refined yet welcoming hospitality experience to the lakeside city. Learn More…

Charges Recommended in Violent Removal at Coeur d’Alene GOP Town Hall

Criminal charges have been recommended against five private security guards and one member of the public following a chaotic scene at a February Republican town hall event in Coeur d’Alene, where a woman was forcibly removed and several attendees were allegedly battered.

According to newly released police reports, the incident began when Teresa Borrenpohl vocally objected to speakers at the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee’s town hall, held at Coeur d’Alene High School. As she loudly commented and booed, a group of men in black jackets pulled her to the ground and dragged her out of the event. Videos of the incident quickly gained national attention.

The men, later identified as employees of Lear Asset Management—a California-based security company—were working as private security for the event. Police say they did not identify themselves at the time and wore unmarked black clothing, in violation of city code requiring proper identification for security personnel. Learn More…

Idaho Unveils 2025-26 Hunting Rules with Major Changes for Deer, Elk, and Mountain Lions

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission has released the 2025-26 Big Game Seasons and Rules (GRAB IT HERE), introducing changes shaped by nearly 14,700 public comments and input from regional working groups.

New regulations include targeted hunts for Chronic Wasting Disease in Unit 1, expanded deer and elk seasons across various regions, and a year-round mountain lion season. Additional updates include new restrictions on pronghorn archery hunts, mandatory bear identification courses, and a rule allowing sabots in muzzleloader hunts starting in July 2025.
