North Idaho College Shines at SkillsUSA, Student Headed to Nationals

Students from North Idaho College’s Auto Body and Collision Repair Technology program recently made a strong impression at the SkillsUSA Idaho State Leadership and Skills Conference, bringing home top honors in their category. Held in Nampa, the event gathered vocational and technical students from across the state to compete in various skill-based disciplines.
NIC student Justin Rigby took first place in the post-secondary auto body repair category, securing his spot to represent Idaho at the national competition in Atlanta this June. Governor Signs Law Limiting Public Vaccine Requirements in Idaho

A new Idaho law is set to roll back vaccine requirements across the state, signaling a major shift in how public health policies are enforced. Signed into law by Governor Brad Little, the legislation limits the authority of public entities—such as schools, government agencies, and public employers—to mandate vaccinations, including those for COVID-19.

Offers Life-Saving Skills

A vital emergency preparedness opportunity is coming to Armory Outpost on April 16th at 6:30 p.m., where attendees can participate in a Stop the Bleed class taught by highly qualified instructor Larry Schiel.
With decades of real-world experience, Schiel brings a wealth of knowledge to the classroom. He’s the owner and lead instructor of Northern Snowy River Education based in Wallace, Idaho. His career includes time as a retired Assistant Fire Chief, a Paramedic Supervisor for a large county EMS system, and California’s former State Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Coordinator, where he oversaw trauma and resuscitation training for both adults and children.
