With a vast collection of over 8,000 artifacts, 39,000 photographs, and thousands of archival documents, MONI tells the stories of North Idaho’s diverse past—from early explorers and the Schitsu’umsh people to the lumber and mining industries. In April 2025, the Museum will open its new home in the beautifully restored JC White House, offering visitors an expanded and modern space to explore the region’s heritage.

In addition to its exhibits, MONI actively engages the community through historical walking tours, lectures, and interactive events.
