Rising Lot Rents at Sun Aire Estates Stir
Worries Among Hayden Seniors

Residents of Sun Aire Estates, a senior mobile home community in Hayden, are grappling with rising lot rents that are making it harder to sell homes or afford to stay.
Johnnie Landis, who has lived in the park for seven years, recently received a letter stating that while her current rent would remain unchanged for now, new residents would face a lot rent of $1,010, plus a $21 trash removal fee. This increase has complicated her efforts to sell her 2,000-square-foot triplewide home, even after dropping the price from $285,000 to $260,000. A recent open house attracted interest, but the prospective buyers were too young for the 55-plus community, and others have balked at the steep rent. Read More…
Aspire Community Theatre Brings Lively Energy to Guys and Dolls in Coeur d'Alene

Aspire Community Theatre is bringing a fresh energy to its production of Guys and Dolls, aiming for a lively, fast-paced experience that blends the spirit of classic Hollywood with Broadway's theatrical flair.

Huggins and her team have focused on maintaining the show's traditional charm while injecting a brisk, cinematic pace to keep modern audiences engaged. They’ve drawn inspiration from both the 1950s Broadway roots of the show and its 1955 film adaptation, starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra, blending old-school glamor with contemporary comedic timing. Kootenai County itself does not set tax rates; instead, it collects taxes on behalf of these individual districts. Read More…
