One of the most anticipated events will occur on the night of June 14 and early morning hours of June 15, when the moon will appear near Saturn, creating a striking visual pairing. Then, on June 21, the June solstice marks the official start of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. Sandpoint Woman Scales One World Trade Center for Wounded Warriors

A woman from Sandpoint, Berit Ollestad, recently completed a remarkable physical and symbolic feat in New York City, climbing the stairwell of One World Trade Center to support the Wounded Warrior Project.
Participating in the annual Tunnel to Towers Tower Climb, she ascended all 104 floors of the iconic skyscraper. The grueling vertical challenge, which includes over 2,000 steps, is designed to honor the sacrifices of first responders and military veterans, especially those who were injured in service. $145K Police Training Facility

Coeur d’Alene’s police department is set to build its first dedicated training facility, with an approved budget of up to $145,000. Idaho AG Labrador Praises Supreme Court Ruling in Smith & Wesson Case

Idaho Attorney General Raúl Labrador praised the U.S. Supreme Court this week for its unanimous decision in favor of American gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson, marking a legal victory against a lawsuit filed by the Mexican government.
The case centered on Mexico’s attempt to hold U.S. gunmakers accountable for gun violence within its borders, alleging that weapons produced by American companies were trafficked across the southern border and used by criminal organizations. Stage Tribute Celebrates 80 Years Since WWII with Song and Story

As the nation marks 80 years since the end of World War II, a special performance in Coeur d’Alene will honor the sacrifices and service of American veterans through music and storytelling. “A Veteran Salute in Song and Story,” presented by Love Joy Harmony Inc., will be staged at the Lake City Playhouse from June 3 to 8, offering an inspiring blend of patriotism and performance.

Forest Service Shutters More Idaho Ranger Offices Amid Staffing Shortages
