A portion of proceeds and collected donations will go to St. Vincent de Paul of North Idaho, a local nonprofit that helps hundreds of individuals daily through shelter, food, and supportive services. Coeur d’Alene Hunter Sentenced for
Poaching Rare Bull Elk

A Coeur d’Alene man has been convicted of a felony for unlawfully killing a trophy bull elk during an archery-only season in North Idaho, following a tip submitted to Idaho Fish and Game’s Citizens Against Poaching hotline.

Joel Rose was found guilty on June 27 after a two-day jury trial in Kootenai County. The conviction stems from an incident that occurred on September 10, 2024, when Rose illegally shot a trophy-class bull elk with a rifle on private property in the Wolf Lodge area near his home. Read More…
