Suicide Prevention Action Network
of North Idaho Monthly Meeting

Suicide remains a pressing public health concern in Idaho, particularly in the northern region. However, with the right resources and support, it is a preventable issue. Recognizing the importance of mental health, the Panhandle Health District has partnered with the Suicide Prevention Action Network (SPAN), the Region 1 Behavioral Health Board, and various community organizations to tackle this challenge head-on.
Their collective efforts aim to raise awareness, offer crucial resources, and promote community involvement in suicide prevention. The Panhandle Health District encourages residents to actively participate in these initiatives, as mental health affects every individual, and together, the community can make a meaningful difference in preventing these tragedies. Native American Leaders Rally for Voter Engagement on Indigenous Peoples Day

On Indigenous Peoples Day, Native American communities across the U.S. are gathering to celebrate their heritage and highlight the importance of voter mobilization ahead of the upcoming presidential election. Events include rallies, town halls, and educational sessions focused on the power of the Native vote, such as one in Arizona, where Native turnout was critical in the 2020 election. Coeur d'Alene and Lakeland Districts Push for Critical Levy Renewals

Two school districts in North Idaho are seeking voter approval to renew multimillion-dollar levies in the upcoming election. The Coeur d'Alene School District is requesting $50 million to fund staff salaries, extracurricular activities, and essential services, while the Lakeland Joint School District is asking for $19 million. Both districts emphasize that without these funds, they would face significant budget cuts.
